Trading

I just traded (though Etsy) one pair of my Blood Drop Earrings for some interesting Goat Milk Soap! I cant wait to get my soap! I even made my trade partner a brand new pair of earrings for the trade. I just about died on my way to the post office though...my little Neon does not have A/C or automatic windows. It was hotter in the car than outside. I hate it when it is like this outside. I know that lots of people on campus etc look at me weird when I walk from place to place with my parasol out, but I could care less. I like not dying on my way to class etc. I still cant believe how much of a difference it makes!

Sales!

I am just so excited I have to tell everyone! I just sold three things from my shop (all to the same person) and I got another commission! Yeah! I was joking around with on of my professors (the one who gave me her third request for another commission) that I should open a shop just for academics...as the person who bought the three things is an old adviser of mine from my undergrad! I am putting the package together to ship...and I just realized that I am very low on shipping supplies! I need bubble wrap!
On a side note, while I was walking to day carrying my new custom parasol, I tripped. As I fell I thought "I am so not going to ruin my brand new parasol the first time I use it!" so I didn't put my hands out to slow down my decent. I took the full impact on my right knee, which is now missing a whole mess of skin. Cleaning fibers from my skirt out of it wasn't fun either, but coming home to a mailbox full of sale notices brightened my day a lot!

Web Ring!

Well, I have some exciting news! Not only did I get to put my business cards up at a local laundry mat (the worker there got really interested in what I was doing because I brought a commission piece with me to work on while my husband and I did laundry). I hope that some people will at least be introduced to Etsy, if nothing else.
I have also just joined the Etsy Sellers who Blog V2 webring! I hope that that will increase the amount of people who see my blog. It seems much to productive to be a Sunday!

Night Owl

I have always been a night owl, ever since I was little. Even though for as long as I remember, my parents made me get up at the butt crack of dawn (5 am or earlier) I have HATED it. I would much rather stay up to 2 am and sleep till noon. Well, last night I was up until 2:30 am trying to promote my shop in the forums, chat rooms, face book etc. Now I am exhausted! I really shouldn't have stayed up so late. I am going to try to put a couple more earrings up in my shop...but you can have a little preview! I am looking forward to my husbands next package that is coming in the mail! He is going to work out a neat scale maille necklace for me, and if it works out...I am going to offer them in my shop!

Simpson's Movie

Well, I saw the Simpson's Movie tonight. It was really fun, I have been a big fan of the Simpson's since I was little and seeing them on the big screen was very fun. I still watch it ever night and my husband is slowly buying me ever season (so far we only have the first two...they are expensive!). The animation looks a bit strange on the big screen, but I think that is because (to my untrained eye) they used more "special affects" or CG sorta techniques than they normally do in the show. The one priceless moment for me was (and if you see the movie you will see this) they act as if the movie has ended...and you could hear a pin drop and one person yelled out "What the F*&%$" a second before it picked back up again. It was just perfect timing! Things like that just happen. Another time like that I remember from when I was a kid and Mortal Kombat the Movie came out. Liu Kang did his signature kick across the screen and the whole movie theater cheered! It was just magical!. The Simpson's Movie almost made me cry...almost. When Homer is watching the video...it was just touching...and right before you felt that "OMG" feeling welling up in your chest...they stuck in a joke...great times!
As for my crafting, I got some pictures taken tonight (finally my camera batteries and my flash light batteries decided to work in unison) and some new items made. I hope that people like what I have to put up...I know I do. Once I am done cropping the pictures, I will put my favorite up in this post..so keep your eyes pealed!
And here is those pictures I promised you!

Holy Moth!

I know this has nothing to do with crafts or jewelry...but I am a zoology student! I was walking home from the bus stop and I nearly stepped on this HUGE moth! I have never seen a moth like this before, so I quickly emptied my Batman lunch box and gently put her inside. I just had to get her home to take a picture! I would love to know what kind of moth this is, so if you have any idea, please let me know! I have lived in Michigan all my life and I dont ever remember seeing one like this before...and did I mention how BIG it is! It has a very large squishy body, so if, for some reason, she dies...I have no idea how to preserve her. I think I may email some of the entomology professors on campus to see if they know what she it. Right now, the moth is sitting in my potted purple pepper plant (say that 3 times fast!) Thanks for reading!

First Blog

Well, with some encouragement from the friendly fokes who frequent Etsy.com's forums, I have stated a blog to go with my new business (ad)venture...Fuzzy Izmit's Homemade Tomfoolery! It just set up shop last month and I am having a great time networking and creating great things to sell. I currently have jewelry that I have created and chain maille (yes, I use the ancient way to spell it, get over it spellcheck!) items that my husband makes up for sale. I have got tons of ideas, and if my camera, light box and light rig (a 10 million candle power flash light...) hold up, I hope to offer my unique style to every one in cyberspace! I am going to try to blog at least once a week, if not more, but once school starts back up I am not sure how much I will be able to fit in. See, I am a grad student working on my zoology masters degree. I need to get my research done and TA (I am a graduate teaching assistant) along with all of the work that come with being recently married (Just passed the one year mark!)...I have a lot on my plate already without this new business! I am off to see what kind of neat thing Blogger offers! I hope that this picture will inspire you to check out my shop at Etsy.com: http://www.fuzzyizmit.etsy.com
Have a great day!
