I just finished an all pearl rosary, and I absolutely love it! I love it so much...I dont know if I want to list it. I love the way pearls feel, so I can imagine praying with this rosary will be quite a joy. I also like the way the gunmetal seed beads I used as spacers contrasted nicely with the pearls. I also like the sterling silver center. I hope to make more, but I want to try other colors, like dark gun metal pearls, red pearls etc. I dont think I will be able to order any more supplies for a while, I need to make and sell more. I have more pearl crosses, but not enough decent normal bead pearls for a second full pearl rosary, but I have some other ideas for mixing types of beads in a rosary which I think will be neat. There is nothing quite like a pearl! Let me know what you think! Should I make more? Should I lists this one?
PS: I do do custom work!

Custom Wood Necklace
Just a quick up date on my actual crafting. I just made this wooden cross necklace for a custom order. I hope the customer likes it, but her only instructions were that it had wooden beads and a wooden cross. It is for her 13 year old nephew I think. I had to order all new supplies since I normally use mostly glass and metal beads. Wood is so different, I am not used to my work being so light! All of the wire is double crimped so it should take a lot of wear and tear. The cross is also removable.

I've Been Tagged
Well, I was tagged by Danca...and it looked sorta fun so I thought I would do it! Just something different to break up my product reviews, ya know?
So here are the rules:
Link to the person that tagged you and post the rules on your blog. Share 7 random and or weird things about yourself. Tag 7 random people at the end of your post and include links to their blogs. Let each person know that they have been tagged by leaving a comment on their blog. 7 things about me:
1. I have a partially webbed toe. It makes it uncomfortable to wear toe socks...which makes me sad.
2. I went to a private middle school for the potentially gifted.
3. I broke one of my lower front teeth playing Red-Rover in high school. I clothes lined myself and blacked out. Word of advice...dont play Red-Rover with anyone over the age of ten!
4. I have a natural (or I think my husband would say unnatural) affinity with cats.
5. My wedding song was "Without You" from rent...my last song was "His Cheeseburger" from Veggie Tales.
6. I have 10 piercings currently.
7. I really love dissection and microscopy...if I could find a job doing both right now I would be in 7th heaven!

Product Review: Custom Printed Pencils from RW School Supply
Lets get another product review knocked out of the park, shall we? Today we look at some custom printed pencils I got from RW School Supply.
I had been trying to think of different ways to advertise for a while. I dont have much time to advertise being a grad student and all, but if I could get something useful out to my customers (and potential customers) that they might use and pass around...that would be great! Thats what led me to think about having some custom printed pencils made. This
idea got me searching the web for some company that could fill this bill. I had a few key things I was looking for, they had to be in my price range (as I just started this business this summer, I dont have a lot of money to sink into it), no set up fee (which cut out a lot of companies), a low minimum order, and the best value I could
get.
I found that at RW in the Imprinted Round Pencils and more! These pencils come in a wide range of colors, with neon and foil options (which cost more). I went with the "Dark Assorted" with white text (although I was also leaning towards silver) for my color choice, which seemed
like a good idea since I love dark colors, but they did not list what those colors were. When I got my pencils I found that "Dark Assorted" means black, navy, dark hunter green, brown, purple, red and (for some reason) orange. I like the variety, I was only expect maybe three colors, but seven
was very nice! I also like that I could get three lines of text AND a "mascot" (my logo) with out any extra charge! Another wonderful thing about this company is that they will work with you. To have them print a custom mascot you must send them a black and white version of your image at a certain dpi. I had a photo I worked off of to make my image, but I have a very limited skill set in Photoshop...very limited. I kept sending them version and they worked with me to get it right. Eventually, I sent them a picture, and they said they would make it work...even though I couldnt get it exactly the way they wanted. Allen (the guy at the company that I was emailing imaged back and fourth) is great and made sure that my image was what it needed to be! You can see from the picture that it came out great! It costs extra for sharpening, so I didnt do that. The only thing I was a little worried about was the minimum order was 3 gross. That is a lot of pencils, but I made it out of there spending just over #70 bucks! The site says it could take 2 to 3 weeks for deliver, but mine came in a little under one, which was a great surprise.
Overall: I am extremely happy with my pencils. RW School Supply has wonderful helpful employees and a good product, especially for the price. I would recommend them to anyone for similar promotional items. They are fast and helpful...check them out!

Product Review: Moonpad Seconds from Epicerma
Time for my next review, so lets get started! Next on my list are my four Moonpad Second from Epicerma.
I recently switched to a Diva Cup but I found that I still want a little bit of protection just in case of a leak. I was looking around Etsy to find some cloth pads to fill the bill. I like the idea of not using disposable items because not only will it save me money in the long run, but it will also create less waste. Good deal all around, if you ask me :) There are several shops that offer cloth pads, so I shopped around for a while. I settled on Epicerma for two reasons...price and design. I like that I could buy seconds (or slightly imperfect moonpads) for a slightly reduced price. These imperfections in no way effect the performance of the moodpad, they are just cosmetic. I also really liked the design qualities the moonpads offer. They are designed more like a cloth version of a conventional pad, which wings that sewn in a direction that naturally wraps around your undies. The other designs that you can find are all cut out of one piece of fabric and then the wings are folded down and around. I also love the button closure over Velcro or no closure at all. The only thing I found in other pads that are not in moonpads is there is no water resistant or water proof layer. I would have liked that one extra layer of protection, but since I dont anticipate any of my leaks being THAT bad, I decided they were still a better design over those who had a water resistant/proof layer.
The package came and to my delight my name and address were written very artistically with stickers adorning the outside. Inside, the whole order was packaged in some very nice paper and wrapped with a green ribbon. Also included in my package was a business card, instructions on use and care of my moonpads, and a coupon for future orders. There are a lot of resources on care and cleaning of reuseable pads, both on Epicerma etsy page and online. Epicerma is also available to answer questions if you convo her. (I plan on storing mine in the toilet tank- cold water- until I hand wash them in the shower...but that is just me!)
That being said, with seconds you are at the mercy of the manufacturer. Because they are oopses, you dont really have much control over what patterns or colors may or may not be available.
Luckily, you can make requests for preferred colors etc. when you order. I put in a requests for "Black, red, no pink or white and nothing girly". That request was actually written on the inside of the shipping envelope, which was really cool to see that Epicerma really listened. I was even more delighted when I saw the actual moonpads! As you can see from the picture, they are all dark colors with non-girly themes! I especially love the skull one, that made me giddy! They are all excellently made, and while if you look really close you may see that one side is not straight or something, that doesnt mean a thing to me!
Overall: I am psyched to finally get some reusable pads, and moonpads seem to be the best designed (in my opinion) out there. If I was using moonpads exclusively, I would be worried about not having a water resistant/proof layer because I have pretty heavy flows. For my use, they are pretty much perfect and I cant wait to put them into rotation next month when my "Aunt Flow" shows up! Thank you so much Epicerma!

Product Review: Honey and Propolis Travel Size Deodorant from Sugar Lips
Well, here goes the first in a long list of product reviews. I am overjoyed to bring you Honey and Propolis Travel Size Deodorant from Sugar Lips.
My new deodorant appeared on my doorstep dressed spartan bubble mailer delivered through USPS. Inside there was my new deodorant and a business card. The travel size is only 0.5 ounces, but you wouldnt imagine how small it is from the smell. As I opened the top, I was hit by the intense sweet honey smell. It was such a heavenly smell...I just had to put it on immediately! The product itself can be ordered in a plethora of scents. I didnt want anything to floral or smell like a walking cake shop, just cause I am not that kind of gal. There are also several unisex and male scents which I wouldnt mind trying some day as well. As for the honey and propolis, it smelled exactly like a bubble bath that I got as a kid that I loved so dear
ly, I kept the bottle in my bedroom and only used it on special occasion. I have to admit that I have no idea how propolis smells, or even what it looks like. I have never found any commercially available with a scent like this, so powerful yet so delicious. The deodorant is also vegan, but thats not why I bought it. I have heard a lot of good endorsements from other happy customers on Etsy so I figured I would try it. I have worn it now for at least 6 hours, and I still catch sweet wafts of honey. So far I havent had any problem with sweating, but I worry that that is where Sugar Lips may not work so well for me. I have a particular problem where my body will go into "super sweat" mode for about a half an hour. I have no idea what triggers it, and commercial products havent really helped this. I hope that Sugar Lips Deodorant will be able to stand up to my periodic sweating episodes, but I will keep you posted. So far, I am as dry as a bone and smelling wonderful! I have heard that this product is very gentle on your skin, so I hope to see those effects with prolonged use as well.
Overall: I love the smell. Very pungent, but not overpowering (it may help that I have good memories of this smell...). It is a bit more expensive, as a whole stick is $8.75 for 3 ounces but I think it might be worth it for the unique scents. I hope that this product can stand up to long term use, so we shall see!

Peacock
I went to the Potter Park Zoo this weekend with my husband, my dad and his girl friend. We had a great time and I thought I would share one of the pictures I took of the free range peacocks that roam the zoo. If you want to see more, just click on the picture and it should take you to my Flickr page!

Product Review: Cinnamon Tooth Chips from Rose of Sharon Acres
As I wrote my last review, my mail came. In my mailbox was a package containing my next "assignment" from Rose of Sharon Acres! So with no further delay...here we go!
I ordered my trial size of Cinnamon Tooth Chips on November 2nd and they arrived by USPS on November 6th. I took note that the packaging was very securely stapled shut and, a nice side note, the envelope was made with recycled paper etc. I wish Sam's club had these!
Anyway, inside was a business card and a free trial size soap along with my tooth chips! The free sample was Sandalwood Vanilla and smells heavenly. With the smell being very intense I was worried that my husband wouldnt like it (he doesnt like sandalwood) but he did. The way he put it is "Sandal wood makes me think of soap, so if it is soap it is fine". What is weird is I dont like things scented vanilla, but I like the sandalwood..go figure. We just got lucky I guess that the combination was sent to us!
I think probably most people out there have no idea what tooth chips are so I will go into a bit of an explanation. Tooth chips are little slivers of homemade soap with flavoring etc that you use to brush your teeth instead of normal commercial toothpaste. Too
th chips are not supposed to create a barrier that stops the natural reenamelization that commercial toothpastes are supposed to do. You can read more about that aspect if you click on the tooth chips link and look at the listings. The container is about the size of a silver dollar and is packed to the rim. In the picture there is no label, but it came with one. I accidentally removed it before I look the picture. As stated before, I got cinnamon, but did I mention that it also has neem oil? There is a disclaimer about neem oil in the listing, but as it has to do with pregnancy, I am not to worried about any side effects. When you open in it up, you are hit with an earthy pine-like smell with a strong hint of cinnamon. I am guessing the pine-like smell is neem oil. At the time when I ordered these, they only had cinnamon (with neem oil) and orange/cinnamon, I went with regular cinnamon because I am not big on citrus flavors. They now have a peppermint trial variety that I wish they had when I was ordering, as I found out when I tried this product that I am not particularly fond of neem oil flavor.
To use this product the site says to "Put one shred on back molar, bite down and begin brushing with wet brush. Rise 3x's." I tried this method the first time I brushed and just ended up cutting the shred of soap and moving the separate shreds around my mouth with my toothbrush. The flavor of neem oil is not something I am used to. Rinsing is definitely necessary. It is not so horrible that I couldn't learn to endure it though. Because I didnt really seem to dissolve the soap at all, my teeth just felt brushed and that was it. The next morning I tried again, using a different technique with much greater success. This time I placed a shred on my wet toothbrush and worked it up to a lather with my finger. Then I make sure that what was left of the shred was deep in the bristles of my brush before I started brushing. This worked much better. When I was done at least my teeth felt like they were cleaned more than just brushed.
Overall: Interesting stuff, but I am glad I only paid $1.95 for a trial size vs buying a whole container. I will continue to use them until I run out, but I am unsure if I will order more. I am on the fence about this product until I get some long term benefits that outweigh the neem oil taste etc. My husband has not tried it, but I am unsure if he will like it. If you decide to buy some, just a warning that it may take a little getting used to and that you will probably have to change your brushing technique to brush your teeth adequately.

Product Review: Black Cherry Shampoo Bar from Anderson Soap Company
This is the first of a few blogs that I am going to do where I review products I got on Etsy. I sorta went on a bit of a spending spree, so I thought I would share my delights with everyone out there!
The first thing to arrive in my mailbox is a package from Anderson Soap Company. Bought it November 2nd and it arrived November 5th. Both the outer and inner packaging w
as very secure and everything arrived all in one piece. To my surprise, other than the packing slip and nice business card, there were two freebie trial size soaps included with my order! One was Mint Chocolate, which smelled very yummy. It was very minty, some chocolate and a hint of something earthy, like coffee. The second freebie bar was Sage and Fig scented. It had a nice clean smell with some fruity fig and the snap of sage that reminds me for some reason of a good fruit cake. I enjoy both scents, so I was very very happy with the little extras included with my order.
On to the main dish...the Black Cherry Shampoo Bar (it is unwrapped in the picture)! The bar (according to the Etsy listing) about 4 oz, which is a good size when I compared with the other shops offering shampoo bars. The price for the size was also a good deal when compared with the rest, at 4 bucks. The best way I
can describe the smell is what the inside of a chocolate covered cherry smells like. It is not overly sweet, but more earthy in aroma. The lather was good in the shower, and the scent was very light. I have heard that shampoo bars can also be used as shaving cream/gel, but since I never use any of that when I shave, I cant tell you how well it works in that application. The bar is easy to store in the shower in comparison to large plastic bottles (I shop at Sam's Club...so everything I get is huge). A little goes a long way, and since I have short hair, I dont anticipate running out of my shampoo bar any time soon. After the shower my hair felt very clean, and lighter. That may make some sense since it is not supposed to have the various chemicals that coat hair like commercially mass produced shampoos have. I cant smell my own hair, since it is short, so I had to wait until early evening for my husband to return home to give it a smell. Unfortunately, after running around on campus all day with a winter hat on, he couldn't smell anything out of the ordinary, but give that the scent was light to begin with, that doesn't surprise me.
Overall: Great product, with a very nice light smell. I like not having to worry about plastic bottles or sodium laurel sulfates. Thanks so much Anderson Soap Company!
**Update** My husband used it last night when he washed his hair and let me smell it once it was try. The smell was very very light, so it is no wonder that it didnt last though my school day!

Whoo hoo, a treasury!
I just wanted to share my good fortune! I am in a treasury...you can seem me in the upper right of this screen capture. I hope that this will drum up some good publicity for me. I lowered the price of that set so that it might sell. I dont normally go for plastic beads, but those bubbly type ones are very pretty.
For additional publicity I am going to order some custom pencils with my shop's website on it...and this blog...to maybe drum up some business. I am going to get my pencils from RW School Supply because they dont have a set up fee and there shipping seems reasonable.
I have also been ordering quite a few things this week from Etsy...so keep your eyes pealed for blogs about tooth chips, sugarlips deodorant, moonpads, and a shampoo bar!
Oh, and yes...my browser is all black and red (and a little gray) and..no..I dont have a hard time seeing it. I only have a problem when the page I am trying to type/read in does weird auto formating stuff with it. Light gray writing on a white background is hard to read (yes, I am talking to you Flickr...)
**update** I did it, I ordered the pencils. They will have three lines of text and my "logo" in white on assorted dark color pencils. The minimum order was 3 gross...and the final price was a little over 70 bucks. I will show everyone what they look like when I get them-- about 2-3 weeks. I also got my shampoo bar in the mail today...and will try it tomorrow morning!

Purple Geisha Head Earrings
I just added these earrings to my Etsy shop today. I hope that they are as hot as the last pair I had up...they sold the day after I listed them! I also have another set of earrings that I will put up in the next couple of days along with some destashing beads. I am still looking into getting into silver art clay. If anyone out there is cyberspace has any good resources, feel free to let me know! I am trying to get Amazon books to send me a book about it before February but I am not sure if they will...but that is a whole different blog!
