Candle Party

I had a candle party today which I have spent the whole weekend preparing for. I havent gotten any of my homework done and I am tired as heck...but I really enjoyed myself. My best friend convinced me to throw one (she works for Party Lite), and more people came that I thought would come...but my bf brought some of her relatives (which is fine by me). I think mostly everyone had a good time. I even put out my jewelry and sold almost 60 bucks worth! Whoo hoo!! I almost ran out of food...I hope no one felt slighted. I got to buy a couple of things, which was nice. I cant wait to get them, especially since one is going to be hung in my bedroom...which has next to nothing on the walls right now! I have to say that Dot (my kitty) took the whole ordeal pretty well. We had two kids over and they chased her a bit, but she didnt get to riled up. The most memorable part for me is my little niece (who is 3) asked me if I was wearing a bra and then proceeded to try and look...luckily I stopped her in time!

I am a bit sad that no one so far has taken me up on my Doll Trade-A-Way. Not a single soul. I thought people were supposed to like getting new stuff for old stuff... I have tried to advertise it everywhere I can think of. If anyone out there has any suggestions, just let me know.

Oh, and the person who left me spam on my previous post in Portuguese... please stop! It is supremely annoying!

Isnt She Cute!

I just (literally) took this picture of my kitty, Dot, and I just had to share it! The best part is that she is gazing at herself on the monitor! Guess what my new wallpaper is! I wonder how long it will take my husband to notice :)

I have been hard at work creating even more earrings, but I thought I would show off another work in progress. This is another cha-cha bracelet I am working on. I really love the way those oil slick chip beads look and I cant wait to get it in my shop...but there is one little problem. I RAN OUT OF HEADPINS!! I am so frustrated! I want to order more, but I have to wait until I need some more supplies to make it worth it. Ugh! It is so close to being finished, I just want to get it done and up in my shop. I wonder if it will sell quickly. The only "problem" with cha-cha bracelets, is while they look really good, they use up tons of beads and tons of supplies...so I have to charge a bit for them (like this one I already have in my shop). Oh well, guess it is off to start writing the rules for my Doll Trade-A-Way!

Preparation!

I just got done making 17 pairs of earrings and I thought that while my hands were still cramping from the effort I would tell everyone out there in cyberland what is going on. I have posted in a few places (etsy, indiepublic and vampirefreaks) about an idea I had to kill two birds with one stone, as they say. The up shot is I want to have a "Trade-a-Way". The idea is that you send me a used Barbie/Bratz doll and I will send you a pair of earrings...hence the earring blitz I was on tonight. I am going to have my blood drop earrings and two new styles for people to choose from. As soon as they get photographed I will put them up here and list them on my etsy site for those who just wish to purchase them. **Update** I have posted pictures off all of the earring I made, and they are also for sale at my etsy shop, plus some other new earrings! Take a look!**
I hope to accomplish these two goals:
1. Get some freaking dolls since none around here has any! Seriously, I have been scouring my thrift stores, Good Will and garage sales for months and NOTHING!!
2. Get some more promotion going on. I have had a few sales lately, which I am really happy about...but you always need to promote, right?
I need to do a couple more things before I make this Trade-a-Way, like perfecting the wording of the deal, print out some more business cards, make sure I have enough packaging supplies etc. I think I will list the official rules etc. on etsy... probably on my profile. I like the idea of convos over emails for some reason.
