Parenting... Ur Doing it Wrong

I dont normally delve into deep or serious stuff on my blog, but this needs to be said. I recently saw this article in the etsy forums. What a disgrace. If you thought you had a bad mom, just take a look here. If you had a mom like this, I hope you learned from her mistakes and have become a better person from that... either that or you are reading this from rehab. Or you are dead... so you wouldnt be reading this I suppose. I just feel so much pitty for that poor girl. Her eyes say it all. I just wish people would realize you need to be a parent to you child, not their friend. I love my mom, she is not perfect, but she was a good parent to me. I learned a lot from her. Thanks mom for not being my friend until I was old enough to realize all the things you did "to" me were actually "for" me. BTW, the lovely poster above was made by WinchesterLambourne. Please visit her shop!

I promise my next post will be on a lighter note!

If an adult (namely you) is taking your child out, I see no point in background checking your neighbors... its seems a little paranoid. If you know of some houses you dont want to take your kids, like if you have a known sex offender etc. I wouldnt take them there. One of my favorite things was going door to door, it seems a bit odd to me not too. It is like, if you son got sick from being outside, will you keep him inside forever?
But then again, I am not his mom... just a person who writes a blog on the internet.

I may be wrong, but those are cigarettes, correct?

So, a daughter and her mother are smoking cigarettes together... how does that make the mother a bad parent?

I've quit smoking now, but when I did smoke... I smoked BEFORE my mother, and actually influnced (not on purpose) my mother to smoke.

It could easily have been a situation like that.

It also could have been that the mother did explain to the daughter that smoking is a bad choice, that it's bad for your health, etc, and the child still decided to do it. (I had so many people tell me it was bad, and I did it anyway... because -I- wanted to.)

I'm sorry to jump on this so hard.. but I dislike when someone accuses a mother of being 'a bad mom' for a reason they could very possibly not be the mother's fault at all.

Also, people don't go to rehab for -cigarettes- they go for heroin, meth, weed, etc.

Deaths from cigarettes are usually slow and painful, I doubt they're dead right now. :)
